We can't believe we have completed our first week in year 6 already. To say the children have come in with a fantastic attitude ready to learn would be an understatement. We have been collecting compliments from adults all around school about how we are excellent role models setting a fantastic example everywhere we go.
In English this week we have been looking at how it would feel to be an evacuee during World War 2. We used the film Good Night Mr Tom as a stimulus and have taken part in lots of drama and role play activities designed to generate language to use in writing.
In maths we have started looking at place value and the children have been flying through the 'chili challenges' always looking to challenge ourselves.
The questions that children have been asking about the War are telling us that all the children are really engaged and interested in this fascinating topic. Next week we will be starting the text 'Wonder'.
