UNDER THE CANOPY
This half term Year 3 have been looking at all things Rainforests. The children have been so engaged in this topic. They even became explorers by taking on the challenge of the 'Great WGE Scavenger Hunt' around our school grounds.
In their writing the children have been focusing on setting descriptions. This helped them to further develop their sentences through use of noun phrases plus our non-negotiables.
In maths we have had a real focus on telling the time. Parents and carers, we are asking for your help to practise this at any possible opportunity. On trips out in the car, using clocks in the environment and any other way you find possible. This is a key skill we will continue to build on. We have had a big push on knowing our times tables as by the end of Year 4 we need to know them all. Lets get a head start!!
In our science work we are focusing on light. The children have been having some fantastic discussions and showing a real interest in this.
Each week we have a 'This week at WGE' video which Mr Hollingsworth posts on Seesaw. Here you can see what we have been doing each week. Also don't forget to look out for our 'Stars of the Week' videos.
The children along with Miss Hunt and Miss Chowdhury have made Miss Ejaz feel very welcome at Whitegate End. Here is to more exciting learning next half term :)
As always, if you have any questions about your child's learning please do not hesitate to contact one of the Year 3 teaching team who will be more than happy to help!
