Wow, what a busy week 1!!

Well what a brilliant start we had to the last half term in Year 4. Have a look at all the things we got up to....

We went invention crazy this week in our learning as our new topic got underway. All the children did indeed dare enter the dragons den and came up with some amazing ideas. We started by watching an episode of Dragons Den so we know what we will be doing at the end of the half term. After that we used our expertise to design a 'teacher pleaser' and the ideas were absolutely amazing!!! We didn't stop there as we started to look at our new focused text 'Until I met Dudley' and we wrote him a letter to ask how a vacuum cleaner works. Infact Mrs Bingham nearly sucked Louie up the Henry the Hoover when she gave a demo!!! We will be doing lots of research into our chosen inventions next week ready to create our own explanation texts.

We also went inventions mad in our topic and want to say a big thank you to all the children who thought about those inventions which have had the biggest impact on our lives. The children have some fabulous ideas and we can't wait to carry on with all the learning we have planned. For a sneaky peak have a look at our topic overview on the main class page.

In maths, we are completing our work on money and will be moving on to time next week. Please, please try and practise telling the time on both digital and analogue clocks. The practise makes all the difference!!!

A big well done to all the Year 4's for taking part in our annual sports day. The children were active for the whole afternoon and enjoyed gaining valuable house points for their House Teams. Who will triumph at the end of the year??!!!

Remember to look out for our new Nando's homework which was sent home on Friday. There is a copy in the documents section of our class page should you need it.

Well done to Skye who was a star of the week this week!!!

Thank you so much to all of the children for a fantastic start to the half term smiley
