We have had the best week in Year 1! Our minds were blown when we realised that knowing our number bonds and adding to 10 actually meant we could easily add and match number bonds to 20. We have been reading a great story in Literacy called Where the Wild Things Are and completed lots of fun activities related to it such as story maps and creating our own Wild Thing. We have had discussions about different ways to be kind and role played scenarios to help us reconnect and build on our relationships with peers. As I'm sure you're aware our topic is 'I'm in year one, GET ME OUT OF HERE' and we have linked this to the 5 senses by completing our very own Bush Tucker Trials We had to dig through slime, smell things such as mint sauce, taste food such as sour worms, complete a listening game and guess the magnified picture. The children were super at this and collected all of the stars so they won a special treat today (toast for snack).
Take a look at our caterpillars, they are cocoons now
Finally, a massive well done to Logan for getting Star of the Week and those children that received their Always Badges. Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Monday
