Week 7

We can't believe the first half term is nearly over!

What a fantastic half term we have had in year 6. From Robinwood to our World War 2 expert to all our enrichment activities we have certainly crammed a lot into this short space of time. This week in literacy we have been having lots of fun creating our diary Entries in the style of Diary of Wimpy Kid, even poking fun at some members of staff.

In maths we have been bravely tackling addition and subtraction and it has been great to see the children have retained some of the strategies they have learned in previous year groups. We are having a big push at the moment on basic maths skills which will enable the children to progress with trickier mastery problems as the year moves on.

As usual team year 6 have shown a fantastic attitude during our War of the Worlds topic and the questions they have been asking would easily fit into a secondary school history lesson.

The year 6 teaching team hope everyone involved as part of team year 6 including parents have a fantastic break!
