Week 3
The Earth's Structure.
This week during topic work we learnt about the Earth's structure. We learnt that the Earth is made up of 4 key layers and that the inner core is a solid where as the outer core and mantle turns to a liquid. We learnt that the mantle is molten rock and the inner and outer core is made from Iron and Nickle. We also learnt that the Earth's crust is very thin. It is on average 3km thick and is made from Basalt and Granite.
