What a first week back we have had!
On Tuesday, we had a lovely lady called Janet from Kingfisher Education with United Utilities come out and see us. She taught us about the water cycle, the importance of water and also, some shocking statistics on the usage of water. Janet told us that the average bath uses around 80 litres of water! How many baths do you have in a week or a year! We learnt so much in the morning and all the children (and staff) were blown away by some of the statistics!
In our writing, we have been exploring persuasive texts. We have looked at different ways in which we are persuaded, ending on watching the trailer of the Lion King and how the trailer persuades us to go and watch it. We had some fabulous discussions in class and loved hearing the children backing up their ideas.
In our topic, we kicked off some planting on Thursday afternoon. Throughout the course of the remainder of the academic year, we will be planting and growing our own vegetables in the polytunnels. Hopefully, we will be bringing some goodies home!
