Welcome back and Happy New Year.
After time given over to discussing how we had all spent Christmas and what gifts we had received, we soon got stuck into our learning.
Our topic is Blue Planet and we are aiming to become mini David Attenboroughs and make our own documentary about endangered marine animals, so we have begun our research and also looked at how we might write a descriptive report about animals. We watched part of a Blue Planet documentary and the children were fascinated by how harsh life is in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
We are reading the book Around the World in Eighty Days as our Guided Reading book and I have put a section on the web page about reading in Year 4.
In Maths, we have been multiplying by 10 and 100 using place value rather than just adding a zero!
