Local Heroes!

In year 2 we are beginning our Summer term with a scientific focus on our local heroes!

We will be learning all about one of our local, Chadderton based heroes, Brian Cox. 

We will be studying Brian Cox's early life and comparing this to our own. We will also be researching our incredible solar system and the properties of each of the planets.

As this is a Science driven topic we will be using all of our scientific skills such as asking and answering questions, collecting data and classifying objects, to complete super science pieces of work throughout this term.

In our writing we will be completing pieces of work around the texts of Beegu, Toys in Space and Meet the Planets. We will also be writing non-chronological reports about the planets and hosting our very own version of Whitegate End Live.

In our maths work this term we will be consolidating our number work, learning different types of measures, fractions and also gathering statistics.

In our other science sessions we will be following the White Rose science scheme and looking at scientific investigations, animals, plants and materials.
