Week 2

Week 2 is done!

What a brilliant week we have had. We started to look at the formal written method for multiplication, it sounded very confusing at first but we soon got the hang of it through our 'graffiti maths' lesson. Some of the children even came up to the front to show us their knowledge!

In our writing we got off to a wild start as we watched clips from our focus video this half term.. 'Blackfish'. We watched 3 clips and summarised each one using bullet points. This helped us to see what has been happening to animals, especially Orca Whales around the world. Here are some of the facts that we learnt.

In the wild Orca Whales can live up to 100 years old.

In captivity the median age of an Orca Whales life span is 9 years old.

Orcas in the wild swim up to 100 miles a day.

Whilst an Orca is in captivity, the place where they live is equivalent to a bath tub.

We had lots of discussions and interesting conversations and we began to write our formal letters to Sea World to tell them our views.

See you next week for more updates!

Have a lovely weekend,
