Week 4

We have had such a productive week, this week!

This week has seen us secure our maths method of division. We have been so impressed by the children's attitudes to their new learning. We were blown away by their sticky knowledge quiz in maths on Tuesday morning! Remembering, and applying, our methods from way back in September. Just brilliant. We are ready for our statistics learning too, so get ready to help the children collect data next week!

In writing, we have began to write our own recounts from The Bear and the Piano. We did a 'Mrs Harris special' with our story boards on Tuesday as we did our story board with a twist! We took each stage and annotated it with lots of exciting vocabulary we could include in our write up … and we did!

We had our last group visit Ashgrove House for this half term, where they played bingo. The children really enjoy these visits and get some much out of it. We will let you know the dates next half term when we go over next :)

We have been helping memorising our times tables. We have come up with some strategies to help us and have already seen a huge difference in the children's ability to recall the times tables. By the end of year 2, children need to know their 2,5 and 10 times tables and be able to count in 3s. Their homework this week is to be able to recall these! Forwards, backwards, middle and random.

Below is this week's homework cover sheet and spellings.

Have a lovely week,

Mrs Harris
