Wow, how are we at the end of the first week already? The time has literally flown by. Our new year 6s have started school with an amazing attitude to their learning and we have really hit the ground running already.
They look so smart and grown up in their shirt and ties, this will really help them on their transition to their new secondary schools next year. In writing we are starting to look at the story of Rose Blanche which is based on World War 2 and tells the story of a young German girl. We will be producing different pieces of writing based around this book.
In guided reading we have started reading the book 'Wonder' which all the children are enjoying and asking lots of questions.
In maths we have started learning about place value and developing our reasoning skills based around this.
We have started our science topic based around evolution and also had our first PE, Spanish and RE lessons.
