In Autumn, for topic, we will be focusing on Geography. Our learning will be based on Manchester. This looks to build on our prior knowledge whereby in Year 2 we focused on Oldham.
For our reading and writing, we will look at Fantastic Mr Fox. The children will look to complete a setting description around this book. They will also look to write a persuasive letter to Mr Hollingsworth.
In Maths, we will start our first topic place value using our new scheme - Power Maths. Later in the term, we will move on to addition and subtraction building on the children's knowledge from Year 2.
Science starts off by looking at skeletons - human and animal. We will then move on to nutrition and diet, looking into what makes a balanced diet and how food is split into 5 main categories.
Below are documents with additional information of what your child will be learning during their autumn term in Year 3. If you have any questions or need any support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
