Topic ‘Brrr it’s cold!’ is the name of our new and exciting topic for this half term. The children will be transforming into Arctic and Antarctic explorers in our new role play area - The Arctic Campsite. In this area they will fish in the icy waters for their dinner and cook it on the camp fire. They will be able to practise their dressing skills getting all wrapped up in winter coats, hats, scarfs and gloves while sharing winter stories will their friends in the tent. Children will also use the binoculars to look out for wildlife and build igloos, ice bergs and other structures with our ice blocks. The children will also participate in activities to learn more about the animals and habitats there are in the Arctic and Antarctica, and the way people live. We will also include a mini topic called ‘Planet protectors’ linked to global warming and the melting of the polar ice.
