Week 1
What a first week back....
Year 3 have had a busy week this week and a brilliant start to the beginning of term.
We invented our own plants, drew and labelled them, thought about how they would survive in our climate, how they would protect themselves, what insects would be attracted to them, what special features they had; such as protecting themselves against bugs that would eat them. We had some amazing ideas and names. Ask your child what their design was. We then used these ideas to write a leaflet about them. An excellent hook into our writing. Well done Year 3, your starting point was amazing.
We then had a science lesson where we labelled parts of a plant, thought about what plants need to survive and planned an investigation 'What impact does light have on a plants growth?'
Then, it was also pancake day where we took part in our sponsored 'Pancake Flip'.
