Week 6

This week has been a busy week in Early Years. We have selected and used a variety of different materials to make self portraits. The children have used mirrors to look carefully at their different features and have thought about which colours to use for their hair. In the messy tray, the children have had the opportunity to explore different textures by playing and manipulating the cornflakes. We even poured water over the cornflakes to see what happened! The children were encouraged to talk about the sounds the cornflakes made and how the cornflakes felt once they were wet. The children have really enjoyed it!

We have enjoyed finding out what fills our friends buckets, they have all looked lovely. Items have included bubbles, horses and cake! The children have enjoyed talking about and sharing information about what fills their own bucket. We look forward to finding out what next weeks buckets are filled with!

Thank you to this weeks secret readers for giving up their spare time to come in and  share a story. The children absolutely love finding out who is coming in to read them. If you are interested in being one of our secret readers please speak to a member of staff.

As the weather is getting much wetter and colder, please ensure your child has a warm, waterproof coat with a hood. Thank you so much to everyone for your continuing support!
