Wow … we started off the week with ANOTHER trip!
On Monday afternoon we were lucky enough to trial a volcano workshop at the Oldham Gallery, which saw us revisit our learning on rocks and volcanoes. We took part in a volcano experiment and was able to share our knowledge. We then took part in some volcano music using some African Drums. The children then created their own volcano eruption using musical instruments - it was brilliant!
In our writing we have been looking at the story of The Windmill Farmer and we have been looking at what adventurous vocabulary we will be able to use in our writing to describe the setting.
In our maths we have been continuing our work on time, our aim is that all the children are able to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes. If the children have a watch at home, please could they be encouraged to wear it and prompted to tell the time outside of school too. It will enable them to become secure and recognise the time and how to tell it in different environments.
We have been continuing our green fingers topic. On Friday we began getting the soil beds ready to plant cucumbers, peas and strawberries. Fingers crossed we will be able to nurture them to grow!
Have a look at some of the photos from this week below.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
