We hope you all had a great Easter !
We are on the final run up to our challenges now and there is actually quite a bit of excitement building up in year 6 with the children looking forward to showing everyone what they can do.
With the challenges in mind our new topic is called 'You can do it' based around mindfulness and ensuring we are able to cope with the stresses and strains that year 6 brings. On Tuesday we made our own mindfulness jars, read personal letters of advice from last years year 6 and had a visit from Jo from relax kids who will be with us each Tuesday afternoon for the next 3 weeks working with us on how to stay calm.
On Friday Mr Scott and some of the other adults in school played a trick on the class, we told them that due to having to close school for polling day Mrs Conway had to open the school for staff and pupils on a Saturday to make up for the extra time. Although all saying they enjoy school this did not go down very well with the children and they produced some fantastic letters of persuasion to Mrs Conway. The staff deserved Oscars for their acting and we only told the children after lunch. They are now busy plotting their own tricks to play on the adults.
