Week 5 W/C 30.9.19

This week in our writing, we have been looking at letters. We had a look at a WAGOLL and picked out the good features, such as capital letters and punctuation that we have been working on already, conjunctions, including addresses for the sender and receiver. We are going to continue our hard work on letters next week and will publish them when we write our letters to our new friends from Coppice Primary School.

In our maths, we have touched on greater than and less than. We have worked on our 2 times tables and have started having a times table test on a Friday after our spelling test. We have also recapped odd and even numbers from year 1 and how we can identify if a number is odd or even.

We have also been looking at ourselves and creating identity maps as part of the Linking Project. We know we have different interests and we like to celebrate these. We have also prepared some questions we would like to ask Coppice Primary School on Monday.

Just a reminder - it is our trip to Castleshaw on Monday 7th October. A text went out on Friday. Please can the children wear appropriate clothes for the weather. We may be doing activities inside and outside so the children will need appropriate footwear. If the children are bringing their own packed lunch, please can this be in a disposable bag clearly labelled with their name. Any questions, please do ask.

Below is a copy of this week's spellings and homework.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Harris
