Week 2
This week we have been researching Queen Elizabeth and we have learnt some interesting facts about her. In Maths we have introduced part/whole models, played a game using part/whole models and cubes then challenged ourselves with Chilli Challenges. In literacy we have been reading the traditional story Jack and the Beanstalk and over the next few weeks we will be developing our skills to retell this story - we started by creating a story map. This week I am sure many of the children will be celebrating Bonfire night so have been learning about why we celebrate it, the gunpowder plot and all about Guy Fawkes. Finally, we have explored Diwali (the celebration of light). We created Rangoli patterns and had discussions about the story of Rama and Sita.
