Week 3

This week has been a little bit different with being off school Monday and Thursday but we have still managed to fit in lots of learning. Firstly, a massive well done to all of the children (and adults helping at home) for your hard work with spellings. I am so excited to say that more and more children are getting five out of five on their spelling test which is fantastic. In Maths we have been doing some more work on Sharing and now we have moved on to Time. We have had so much fun working out the time by the hour and showing the time using our clocks in school. You could help the children consolidate this learning by asking them what time it is at home. In literacy we have written a letter to our future year two teacher, discussing our interests and including questions about what we would like to know. As part of our pirate topic we have been reading maps, learning about North, East, South and West and even made our own compasses! Finally, we have been focusing on RESPECT this half term and we did an experiment to see how our words and actions can hurt using an apple.

Have a lovely weekend. We look forward to seeing you on Monday :)
