Weekly Spellings
Spellings in Year 3.
In year 3 there are statutory spellings the children need to know, these will feature in the weekly spelling tests.
We also follow a Spelling Scheme in school called 'No Nonsense Spelling'. Sometimes I will use the spelling pattern of words for a weekly spelling test too. I will also revisit some KS1 Year 2 words as part of spelling tests, so the words are remembered. This is to ensure coverage and that children are learning to spell and use a wider range of vocabulary.
Children will now get a set of 10 spellings per week to help with the learning of the trickier words and two from the statutory word list.
