Reception

Welcome to Reception!

Hello and a very warm welcome to Reception class;

A People Place

If this is not a place where tears are understood,
Where do I go to cry?
If this is not a place where my spirits can take wing,
Where do I go to fly?
If this is not a place where my questions can be asked,
Where do I go to speak?
If this is not a place where you’ll accept me as I am,
Where can I go to be?
If this is not a place where I can try to learn and grow,
Where can I be just me?

William J. Crocker

Our classroom teacher is Mrs. Tetlow and she is supported by Mrs McDonald, Mrs Nield and Mrs Faulkner.

In our classroom we respect and care for each other because we know that this helps to create a happy healthy place to laugh and learn. Just look at the progress we have made already!

Our classroom is a positive classroom, a safe place to learn and develop. We have lots of different areas where we can learn, both inside and outside.

We have a reading and writing area, a construction area, a role play area, a creative area, a computer area, sand and water area, an investigation area, an area for physical development outside and lots more; there will always be lots of opportunities to challenge and extend our learning.
Take a look at what we have been learning already in our class!

Welcome back to the final half term! This term’s topic is Calypso Crawlies, please take a look at our newsletter for further details.
Reception  will be going to visit our link school Greenhill in June to see a play from the M6 theatre company . We will also be sending more home key words to practise at home this half term and various tasks to enjoy together with your child . In the meantime, if you have any postcards or photos from your holidays that you would like to share with the class, please bring them in!
This is also a very exciting half term for the children, as we will be preparing for year 1 .
