Updates from a snowy week 2...

What a week!

Although it was given out snow I don't think any of us thought it was going to be THIS bad did we?!

The children have absolutely loved the snow this week ...

In our writing we have been learning all about speech - especially how we punctuate it and how we include it in our writing. We have also learnt this through song ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoE9ET6CtaI - parents/carers be warned - this song will stick in your head all day!

In our maths we have been moving onto division of a two digit number and ones using base 10. We have also been introduced to a new method of doing this and the children have really responded well.

Our topic work has seen us have a look around the site of a volcano, in particular focussing on the landscape. Most of us thought the landscape would be rocky, but on a look round using the VR on the ipad we discovered that the landscape near a volcano is actually very fertile - the landscape was very green!

We have finished off our self portraits in our artwork and have been looking at Pablo Picasso's work and how he interprets portraits.

The spelling test that was due to take place on Friday 2nd March will take place on Friday 9th March instead so the children will have an extra week practising!

We hope you have all stayed safe during the school closures on Thursday and Friday.

For homework this weekend please have a look at the attached document on the year 3 homepage :)

Hope everyone has a lovely (warm!) weekend!
