Week 1

We've had such a busy week getting back into the swing of our routines. We kick started our topic with a trip to Jodrell Bank (I have added an album with some pictures for you to see). We also completed the pancake challenges, thank you for everyone who donated and sponsored, the children really enjoyed it. In their science work, they started by looking at all the specific vocabulary and looked at how the Earth and the Moon orbit the sun. They became very dizzy (especially if they were the Earth, rotating at the same time), understanding the movement within our solar system. Our class book and guided reading book, is the London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd. We have already created detective board ready to add as many clues as we can find to solve the mystery and the children have made lots of predictions about what could have happened to our disappearing character.

This half term we will be having a big push on reading. We are asking that children complete 3 logs in their reading journal. If they can make comments about the book they are reading this will allow us to ask them questions about the books they are reading. We will be holding a reading club on a Monday for children who want to read more or who are struggling to find time at home. Any questions, please just ask.

Thank you for your support.
