Week 1

Welcome back everyone! We hope you had a lovely break and enjoyed all of the halloween fun.

As well as working hard in maths and phonics this week, one of our adult led activities was to make a sensory bottle. The children enjoyed measuring out and pouring the water into the funnel and selecting the items they wanted to feature in their sensory bottle. We will use the bottles as part of our Relax Kids and My Happy Mind sessions to promote mindfulness and relaxation.

On Friday afternoon Reception’s Year 6 buddies joined us for a very special treat. In remembrance of Bonfire Night, and after sharing the story of Guy Fawkes, we got all wrapped up and made a fire with Mr Butterworth in our Forest School area. The children enjoyed watching the flames dancing in the middle of the group and had some great ideas of how to stay safe around fire too!

Our assembly winners this week are:

Star of the week - FREDDY and ALICE. The star of the week is award to children who have really shone this week in their work, progress or behaviour.

Taking Tatty Teddy Bear home are ESMAE.R and ELLIOTT.R. Tatty Teddy watches the children whilst they are sitting on the carpet during adult focused sessions. He chooses to go home with children who have shown super sitting and good listening.

My Happy Mind winners - KEANE and HEIDI. The happy mind award goes to children who have shown character strengths during the week such as bravery or resilience.

The children who received their Always badges this week were MINNIE and KEIRA - Always badges are awarded throughout the school to children who consistently (always!) follow the school rules and adult instructions. It is a very special award and children must wear their Always badge to school each day as part of their uniform. Well done girls!!
