Week 1
Well what a busy first week back we have had!
To start off our new Geography based topic, we spent the morning designing and making our own cities using different materials. We had to think carefully about which material would be best to build with. We had the choice of carboard, Lego and playdough.
We have also started our new guided reading text 'Around the World in 80 Days'. The children are already intrigued by the character of Phileas Fogg. In Maths we have started working on our measurement unit, by estimating and measuring using centimetres and metres. In writing we have started our setting descriptions based on 'Weslandia' we had some fantastic ideas and theories about where we thought the story was set.
Please remember that next week we have parents evening on Monday and Tuesday. We are now using an online booking system, so be sure to grab yourself a slot if you haven't already! We also have our pantomime trip next Thursday to the Oldham Coliseum to watch 'Jack and the Beanstalk' how exciting!
