Week 5 updates ...

The week has been extremely productive!

In our writing we have been learning about subordinate clauses and how we can extend our sentences - we know that we have a main clause and that our subordinate clause can be at the beginning, middle or end of our sentence and it adds detail for the reader. We have began drafting our leaflets following on from our research about a UK city. The children have made a brilliant start and we are going to publish them on coloured card next week.

In our maths this week we have been converting measurements, adding and subtracting lengths. We have also been finding equivalent fractions too - our times tables have helped us massively with spotting the equivalent fractions!

Our topic work took us outside this week too - we have created our own map of school using symbols for all the trees, canopies etc. The children have really enjoyed their learning!

Just a reminder - we have class photos on Monday and it is our trip. Please can the children wear full school uniform on Monday and bring their change of clothes.

A BIG THANK YOU to all children and parents - for practising times tables. We have already seen a massive improvement in the results of the times table test every Friday ... please keep up the good work!!

Have a lovely weekend
