Week 5 was a super week for Year 4!!!

The Year 4's this week were quite simply superstars!!!! They steamed ahead with their learning and become Deaf Awareness Ambassadors as they helped to teach the whole school key elements of sign language. A HUGE thank you has to go to Mr Webster who helped arrange Deaf Awareness week!!!

So we had a special task to complete this week for Superhero Academy. In order to graduate next week, we had to compile a report about our individual superheroes. The children rose to the challenge and the drafts are looking amazing. All the children have included some really interesting facts about their superheroes!!!

We continued with our work on decimals and the class are really growing in confidence. It is great to see everyone growing in confidence in maths and really trying to push their learning on. Well done folks!!!

Our topic work this week was linked to Deaf Awareness week. All the children took to their chosen areas with real determination and refined their sign language skills. The rest of the school cam to the hall on Wednesday afternoon and visited each of the Year 4 stations to learn key elements of sign language - from colours to how to sign your name it was all on offer. The children were extremely brave in Thursday afternoon as we threw the doors open and invited parents to come along and learn some sign language. The children truely showed what amazing superstars they were as they used their manners to welcome parents and were really brave teaching others new things!!!

We want to thank the children and parents/carers for helping make our Royal Wedding celebration go so well. The children all looked amazing in red, white and blue. Thank you to all the effort you all went to!!!!! We have to thank Sharon and her team in the kitchen as the lunch they made was amazing!!! Now our celebrations didn't stop there as we gave the Year 3 and Year 4 children a challenge. They were given a loo roll, white bin bags, cellotape and scissors and had to make Megan's dress. Well the results were brilliant and the teachers were in stitches looking at all the creations. Mr Webster joined in too as Mrs McDonald and Miss Leaver made him a dress while Mrs Bingham took photos as evidence!!! Have a look at all the picture below!!!

A big well done to Louie who won our Star of the Week this week...very well deserved!!!!!

Have a look at our Royal Wedding dresses :)
