Superhero Academy is open!!

Well the doors of our Superhero Academy were thrown open this morning as we got off to another WOW starter!!

The children have enrolled in the academy and they must complete a number of tasks in order to graduate at the end of the half term. We started by taking notes from our fellow Superheroes such a Batman (Mrs Bingham's favourite) and Captain America. We then had to turn our attention to the villains such as the Joker! We have some experts in the classroom and Mr Webster sure does know his stuff!!!

The time came to design our very own superheroes and we had to design and make our very own costumes. We want to say a big thank you as we couldn't have done this without all of your very kind donations of material.

The week didn't end there as we got going with our 'Superhero Academy' pre-write story and the children had amazing ideas. We had enemies bursting through walls and New York City as under threat. We can't wait to see the final pieces of work!

Another of our superhero academy challenges has been looking at decimals. Yes, we have been decimal heroes by recognising tenths and hundredths as decimals. We will be building on this next week.

We would like to thank the children for a brilliant first week back. A big well done to Yacmine who was our star of the week and Tilly who won the Masterpieces award in assembly today.
