We became mummifying experts in week 6...

I don't know about you at home, but I'm not too sure where this week has gone!

We have had a brilliant week this week... I'm sure you have heard all about our experiment of mummifying tomatoes at home!

In our English this week, we have been basing this around instruction writing. We have been looking at propositions and why these are important as well as imperative verbs (bossy verbs) and following and giving instructions using these too. The children have responded really well to their writing this week, which has been brilliant. We will be writing our instructions next week on how to mummify a 'body'.

In our maths this week, we have been continuing to develop or skills of column addition. Next week we are going to be concentrating on column subtraction.

Our guided reading sessions have been concentrating on the Egyptian Cinderella and Shirley Climo. The children have noticed some similarities and differences from the fairy tale they have heard already... I wonder if it will end the same?

Our spelling test this week took place on Thursday, this was due to us being out of school on Friday. Next weeks spellings are below and the test will be on Friday 20th October.

In our topic this week, we have been looking and studying about mummification. We had a look at the Ancient Egyptian process to mummification and what tools they used.

On Thursday we had our own go! The children responded brilliantly, we were so impressed by their positive attitude to their learning! Have a look at the photos on the link below for yourself!
