Week 1

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely half term? It was great seeing so many smiley faces coming through the door. It has been FREEZING in Early Years this week. We have set up our very own Arctic campsite and have been fishing for dinner in the role play area for the 'Brr It's Cold' topic this half term. The children have been developing their cutting skills by making a penguins using a variety of resources. It was a little bit tricky but we didn't give up!

The children have been thinking about  how a polar bear keeps warm when it is in the ice, cold water. We carried out an experiment to help us understand. First we put our hands in ice cold water, then we put our hand inside the bag with the vegetable fat to see if it felt warmer. We discussed how the two felt different. It was so much fun.

We have been busy making poppies for Remembrance Day next week.

Today, we started our Connected Curriculum groups. The children are taking part in a variety of activities,  these include: yoga, dancing, Spanish and thinking about keeping healthy. Here are a couple of pictures.

Thank you to our Secret Readers this week. It was kind of you to give up your time to come and read to us. If anyone is interested in being one of our readers please speak to a member of the Early Years staff.

Our first Family Learning Session is due to take place about reading on Wednesday 20th November 2019 9.00am - 10.00am. We look forward to seeing you all.
