Wow where did this half term go to?? What a great last week we had as we lots to do to finish off our current topic...
Both myself and Mr Webster are so so proud of the children for their reading into writing work this week. In the space of a week they have planned, presented, drafted., edited and published a non-chronological report all about their unique civilisations. The children had such amazing ideas for their reports and the end results are fantastic!
We became area experts in our maths this week where we had to complete a number of challenges to apply our learning. We started by counting squares to find area then investigated shapes with the same area but different perimeters.
Our topic came to an end as we designed our very own 'utopian' cities using everything we have learn this half term. Not only that but we finished our topic off with a bang as we visited Gallery Oldham. The children were absolutely amazing and members of the public commented on their fantastic behaviour. We worked with a professional artist to sketch mills in Oldham and even sketched people in the style of L S Lowry. The children used lots of different media to create their own personal sketch books before starting to make a pop-up book using everything they had learnt.
We want to say a huge thank you to all the children for their amazing hard work this half term!!! We hope you all have a lovely half term and we will look forward to seeing you on Monday 19th February
