Week 6

This week in Year 5 we haven't stopped. The children have been absolutely fantastic.

Christmas has officially started! They have been working really hard on their performances and we hoped you really enjoyed the KS2 show. We have also nearly finished our Christmas cards and decorated our door for the PTFA competition.

In our reading into writing, the children have been publishing their book of wonder story. They have let their imagination run wild and have produced some amazing pieces of writing. Next week we will be writing some instructions based on our science experiments and letting the children do some creative writing.

In our maths, we have been consolidating our learning for the half term and the children will be finishing their post learning on Monday. Please keep helping them at home with their times tables and division. They have all got their sumdog username and passwords which they can access on a phone, tablet or laptop. This is a brilliant resource that we have and the children really enjoying using it.

As part of our pupil voice, the children asked if they could have more opportunities for reading for pleasure. We have started it this week and it has been fantastic to see their love for reading. We have asked the children to read at home a minimum of 3 times a week. Please can you encourage them to do this and make a note of it in their reading journal.

Next week we have planned a science day for the children on Monday and we will be having a Christmas party morning on Friday.

Thank you very much for all your support. Have a lovely week!
