Week 3

This week the children have had a fantastic growth mindset in all areas of their learning.

Earlier on in the week, they had their first full swimming lesson and both myself and Mr Butterworth were really impressed by how they conducted themselves and cannot wait to see how far they will come. The swimming teacher is excited to push them through different grades, rescue training and water safety.

In our learning, the children have started writing their diary entries and have blown us away with all their ideas. They have applied lots of elements from their learning and this is before they've even picked up their editing pens. We can't wait to see their published pieces of writing next week.

In Maths, they have challenged themselves this week with powers of 10 and rounding. We have used songs, raps and WAGOLLs to help us understand rounding up to 100,000 and they've done a fantastic job.

As part of our topic, a consent letter has been sent home this week for parents to sign and return back to us as soon as possible. This is about our upcoming trip to Castleshaw on Monday 14th October. You should have received by email a letter containing information for this trip, however I will add the copy to the website, along with the consent just incase you haven't.

Spellings, homework and reading records have been sent home. Please can you encourage your child to read, as much as possible and record in their reading record. These are checked on Thursday and children who have read 3 or more times will be entered into a raffle, just to encourage them to read more at home.

Remember our class drop in is on a Monday, just incase you have any questions, concerns or would like an update on your child's learning.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
