Have a look what we have been doing in week 5!

Where are the weeks going? They seem to be flying by!

In our learning this week we have been super busy!

In our English we have been creating our own stories. We have been breaking them down to a beginning, middle and end. Getting the children to get into the habit of talking about their characters in a descriptive form and the setting of the story. We will be concentrating on this throughout the year developing our vocabulary. The stories the children have produced this week have been really good - we have been so proud of them.

In our maths we have started with our addition and subtraction. We have been building this up using two-digit and three-digit numbers, securing our knowledge of those number bonds so we can do simple addition and subtraction mentally.

In our topic this week, we have been looking at Tutankhamen, we have been carrying our own research and producing that research on the ipads.

We have had our spelling test this week, thank you for your continued support with those. Below, is a copy of the spellings that are going to be tested next Friday in preparation for the work we will be doing on our spelling next week.

Next Friday, we will be going on a trip to Castleshaw as part of our linking project with Buckstones Primary School.

This will allow the children to build relationships with children from Buckstones and we will have the opportunity to send them letters and Christmas cards throughout the year.

On Friday 6.10.17 a few letters have been sent out regarding the trip. Two being parental consent, can both of these be returned by Wednesday 11th October, please.

I have attached a copy of the letter below.

Congratulations to Che this week ... He received his pen license this week!

Also big congratulations to Ruby ... our star of the week this week. After tackling every challenge with a smile on her face, for being a great role model as well as a pleasure to teach, we are super proud of Ruby!
