Hello and welcome to the year 4 class page!

The teaching team in Year 4 is Mrs Harris (Monday-Tuesday) and Mr Wright (Wednesday-Friday). We will all be working very hard together to give every child the best opportunities to succeed whilst making memories along the way. 

We want to make you all have as much information as possible throughout the year, but please do get in touch should you have any questions or concerns. A welcome pack was sent home with your child at the beginning of the year, this included the expectations and information for the year, the year 3/4 statutory spellings, copies of all the12 times tables and a GPS SpaG mat, which shows the coverage we will have during our writing sessions. 

All children need to come to school in their PE kits each Monday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor). Please make sure to wear the correct PE kit.

In Year 4, children will be taking part in the statutory multiplication check (MTC) which will be taking place in June 2026. Throughout the weeks, we will be practising our timetables as much as possible. As part of their homework, children will be expected to practise their timetables 3times a week for a least 10 minutes via timetable rockstars. 

Children will have reading books sent home. We would like the children to be reading as much as possible at home. The expectation is that children read, out loud, to an adult 3 times per week for around 20 minutes. This will be recorded in their reading records.
