Welcome to the last term of this academic year.
During the first half term, in writing, we will be completing a newspaper article based on the Literacy Shed video hook 'Pigeon Impossible'. We will pick out the features of a newspaper article, thinking about our paragraph choices, vocabulary and spellings. Our sticky write this half term, will be a newspaper article based on Helen Sharman, our focus in our Science learning.
In maths, we will continue our weekly arithmetic assessments. We will also continue to focus on our timestables in readiness for the statutory multiplication check in June. Please can you practise as much as possible with your child at home on timestable rockstars. In our maths lessons, our focus for Summer 1, will be decimals, multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 and money.
Our guided reading book this half term is Varjak Paw by S F Said. We will continue to build our comprehension and fluency in our reading sessions. Children will be reading in school, please can they be reading at least 3 times per week at home.
In our indoor PE sessions on Friday's the focus will be Badminton.
