Part Four - Learning to Share

Nursery is often the first time that young children have had the experience of sharing with others. Part Five - A Good Night's Sleep

Children who have a good bedtime routine and have a good night's sleep find learning at Nursery much easier than children who don't. The video below gives some tips to help ensure your child has a healthy bedtime routine which should lead to a good night's sleep for everyone!

Part Six - Toilet Training

One of the most important things that parents can do to help prepare their child for nursery is to ensure they are able to use a toilet and are no longer using nappies during the day.  Your child will be much happier and more confident in Nursery if they are able to use a toilet independently.   The following videos will help you with this essential skill.

Part Seven - Screen Time

Across the UK, young children are spending more and more time on screens at an early age. Experts say that this is causing many problems for our children. These problems include a lack of physical exercise, which young children need, and reduced attention spans, which make it difficult for children to concentrate in class.  The World Health Organisation recommends that children under the age of 5 should spend a maximum of 1 hour on a screen each day and should have at least 3 hours of physical activity. At Stanley Road, we encourage all parents to follow these guidelines.
