PTFA

Our PTFA - the Friends of Whitegate End - brings parents, carers, staff and members of our wider community together to support the children and enrich their experience of school.

We organise events, raise funds and create opportunities for families to come together and enjoy being part of the Whitegate End community.

But the PTFA is about much more than fundraising.

It is about community, connection and creating experiences that children remember.

What does the PTFA do?

Throughout the year, the Friends of Whitegate End help to organise and support a range of events and activities.

These might include:

  • 🎉 school celebrations and family events;
  • 🎄 Christmas and seasonal activities;
  • 🎨 creative and community events;
  • ⚽ sporting events;
  • 🎶 performances and celebrations;
  • 🏫 school improvement projects;
  • 🍰 cake sales and fundraising events;
  • 🎟️ raffles and competitions;
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 family events;
  • and activities suggested by our children and families.

The money raised by the PTFA is used to provide additional opportunities and resources for the children of Whitegate End.

Where does the money go?

We want children to see the difference their school community makes.

Funds raised by the PTFA can help provide things that enhance children’s experiences beyond what can be funded through the school’s core budget.

This might include:

  • new equipment and resources;
  • enrichment activities;
  • special events;
  • experiences for children;
  • improvements to the school environment;
  • contributions towards trips and activities;
  • playground and outdoor resources;
  • books and creative resources;
  • and projects identified by children and staff.

We aim to make sure that fundraising has a visible and meaningful impact on children’s lives.

Everyone Can Get Involved

You don’t need to join a committee.

Our PTFA is always happy to welcome parents, carers, grandparents, family members and members of our local community who would like to get involved.

You don’t need to have lots of spare time.

You don’t need to attend every meeting.

You don’t need to organise an event.

Sometimes the most valuable contribution is simply:

“I can help for an hour.”

You could help by:

  • volunteering at an event;
  • helping with preparation;
  • donating items;
  • sharing ideas;
  • supporting fundraising;
  • helping to promote an event;
  • joining the committee;
  • or simply coming along and getting involved.

Every contribution makes a difference.

Our Children Have a Voice

We want the PTFA to support the things that matter to our children.

Where appropriate, we involve children in thinking about how money raised could be used and encourage them to share their ideas about events, activities and improvements.

After all, the PTFA exists to make a difference to their experience of Whitegate End.

Our School Community

One of the best things about the PTFA is the opportunity it creates for families to get to know one another.

School can be a busy place.

PTFA events give us an opportunity to slow down, come together and enjoy being part of the same community.

Whether you’re new to Whitegate End or have been part of our school for many years, you are welcome.

Want to Get Involved?

BELONG. SAFE. THRIVE.
