We continually develop our teaching because we believe that every child deserves to experience excellent teaching every day.

Our Whitegate End Great Teaching Framework provides a shared language and understanding of what great teaching looks like across our school.

 

Everyone Belongs

Inclusion is part of who we are.

We recognise and celebrate the different experiences, backgrounds, strengths and needs of our children and families.

We work closely with parents, carers and professionals to remove barriers to learning and participation and to make sure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.

We believe that children should not have to fit into school.

We should make school work for children.

Our commitment to inclusion is reflected throughout school life, including our SEND provision and The Hive, our specialist SEMH provision.

The Hive provides targeted support for children with social, emotional and mental health needs, while maintaining strong relationships with the wider school community.

We believe that inclusion is not something we provide for some children.

It is part of who we are.

Whitegate End is proud to be part of Oldham and Greater Manchester.

We want our children to understand their local community and the people, places, history and culture that have shaped it.

As children move through our school, their understanding of the world gradually expands — from themselves and their families, to their school and community, to Oldham and Greater Manchester, the United Kingdom, Europe and the wider world.

We want children to know where they come from while developing the knowledge, curiosity and confidence to explore where they could go.

We are proud of our place in Greater Manchester and the opportunities this gives our children to experience its history, culture, music, sport, creativity and communities.
