Whole School Days

Look at the pages below to see some of the activities we have all enjoyed.

Rock Kidz

Last week we had a fantatsic week with the Roc Kidz Team. All week we learnt new songs and discussed their meaning. On Thursday and Friday evening we all got dressed up as Rock stars and performed for our parents.  We had a great time and worked well in our class and school teams to put on the shows. Many thanks to those parents who also performed for us in the Lipsync battle!!

Forest School Day - Fri 10 Jan 2014

What a fantastic day we have had today at our Whole School Forest School Day!  Each class came out to enjoy a Forest School session with Mrs Whelan, Mr Butterworth and the year 6 helpers.
We had lots of fun learning to tie knots, make hedgehogs out of clay, fat balls for the birds, homes for hedgehogs and mud soup.  The children in year 5 and year 6  enjoyed a camp fire where they toasted marshmallows and had hot chocolate.

Healthy Life Style Week w/c 6th Jan - 10th Jan 2014 - Fri 10 Jan 2014

We have had a busy week learning about healthy lifestyles.
The children in nursery and reception have focused on keeping themselves clean and cleaning their teeth. Year 1 learnt how to eat healthily whilst Year 2's focus was anti-bullying.  Year 3 discovered the importance of drinking water and exercising regularly.  Year 4 learnt about the risks of smoking, Year 5 focussed on drug awareness and Year 6's focus was alcohol awareness.
During the week we have had visits from Coran Life Education, the school nurse and dentists.
On Wednesday we had a P.E. day.  W.U.G.A.! (Wake Up and Get Active!) club got everyone on their feet and joining in with their exercises during assembly.  Mrs Bethell led yoga sessions for years 4, 5 and 6 whilst Lucy Angus and Mrs Whelan led cheerleading sessions with Years 1, 2 and 3.
The week ended with a whole school Forest School Day.
